Safety

That Kid Life is covered with public liability insurance. All of our teachers are first aid trained, with an up-to-date DBS check.

For ages 6+:

For safety reasons, at least one other adult, in addition to the teacher, must be present throughout the party. This does not mean they have to be helping with the party, but they must be present should they be needed in the event of an accident arising. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure this happens and that they have contact details for parents/carers of children in attendance.

We retain the right not to conduct certain activities if we feel the children are not responding appropriately, or are too riotous and therefore we deem it unsuitable or dangerous.

For ages 5 and under:

For safety reasons, children should be supervised by a responsible adult. These sessions are not teacher-led so it is up to the party organiser to ensure that parents/carers stay with their children. While we ensure activities are age-appropriate and carefully planned, there will be small parts.

Covid Cancellation Policy

Should you need to cancel for any reason relating to covid e.g. testing positive for covid test, local or national lockdown restrictions etc. then you would be welcome to reschedule your party for another time. Sadly it is not possible to have a refund on the deposit. However you can ‘float’ your booking for up to 6 months and then rebook at any point in the future.

Normal Cancellation Policy

Once a deposit is made, it cannot be refunded if our services are cancelled less than 4 weeks before the date of the party. If you cancel more than 4 weeks in advance, we can refund your deposit but please note that a £15 admin fee applies.

If our services are cancelled less than 4 weeks before the booked date of the party, the deposit is non-refundable but we may, subject to availability, be able to reschedule our services to a later date, no later than 6 months after the original party booking date.

If you wish to cancel a party, notice must be given in writing to lauren@thatkidlife.co.uk and you must have received an email acknowledgement back. Please note we cannot accept messages left on voice mail or social media as notification.

In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a party then your deposit would be fully refundable and no admin fee would apply.

Booking our Services

Please note that a party is not booked and confirmed until a deposit has been received via the website or the full amount has been paid. 

Upon booking, your date is only secured once a deposit has been received and acknowledged through our booking page. Full payment is required 14 days before the event. The final amount will be added to our website, with the booking link emailed to you.

We reserve the right to refuse a booking or to cancel an existing booking for any reason. This includes, but is not limited to, if a customer is abusive or threatening in some way, or we feel a booking might put our teachers in a dangerous, inappropriate or uncomfortable position.

Liability

Please note That Kid Life does not take responsibility for children causing damage to a venue or any property that the party is held in. This includes, but is not limited to a home, hired venue or public area.

Please note that all of our party packages are appropriate to the age of the children outlined on our website. You should be aware that the activities will not be appropriate for children outside the specified age range. If you have younger children attending the party we would ask that you please ensure that either the parent or an adult supervisor is there to look after them and prevent them from disrupting the session.

By booking a party with That Kid Life you understand that you release us from any liability associated with accidents of any kind. This includes but is not limited to accidents occurring to any adults or children. You also release That Kid Life from any liability associated with accidents or damage caused to furniture, fixtures or fitting or property of any kind not belonging to that of That Kid Life.

In the unlikely event that refunds or compensation are requested, you accept that any refunds or compensation given, will be limited to the total value of the cost of hiring our services.

If parties are held anywhere other than your home, we will assume that you have either hired the hall or had permission to use the space, and have deemed the space suitable and safe to use for the types of activities being provided by That Kid Life.

All parties are exclusive to That Kid Life and all material is copyrighted and the property of That Kid Life.

What we need to carry out parties:

For ages 6+:

Art and craft parties will require children to be sat at tables. 6ft trestle tables are ideal (and often supplied in church halls, community centres etc. but please do check this.)

During the party the customer must ensure at least 1 adult is present in the same room for the entire duration of the party. This is in case accidents should occur or children need to go to the toilet. We regret, for safety reasons, we cannot carry out parties unless at least one adult is present in the room the entire time.

For ages 5 and under:

We tend to set activities out on the floor for this age group. Please let us know if you would rather have paint-free parties - we take care of the cleaning up but cannot be held responsible for painty little hands, especially if the event is in your home!

For safety reasons, children should be supervised by responsible adults.

During our parties we ask that no food or drink is provided during the actual art and craft element, including buffet food out on a table for children to access. Most families opt to provide and hand out snack boxes after the activity, followed by a birthday cake. All That Kid Life parties and events are strictly nut-free.
