Art Exhibition, Great Wakering

Our after‑school club shares a venue with a local adult art group, so when we heard they were hosting a village art exhibition showcasing work from community artists and the local school, we knew it was the perfect opportunity to get involved and strengthen our links with the community.

We were given our own room to display our clay dragon eyes, which stopped visitors in their tracks… many couldn’t believe they’d been created by artists as young as six. One wall was filled with our bold abstract eye paintings and two tables offered creative activities for families to join in with throughout the day.

It was a brilliant community event, full of conversation, encouragement and pride. Our young That Kid Life artists loved sharing their work with the wider community and their families came along to celebrate everything they had created.
